Who We Are

  Texas Army National Guard Officer Candidate School (OCS) is more than a training program - it is a proving ground where enlisted soldiers and Non-Commissioned Officers transform into confident, capable leaders. Set against the backdrop of Texas’ proud military heritage, OCS challenges candidates mentally, physically, and morally, forging resilience through demanding field exercises, leadership evaluations, and academic rigor. Every obstacle course, late-night planning session, and team mission becomes an opportunity to discover a deeper reserve of determination and purpose. Candidates learn that leadership is not just about rank, it is about responsibility. Candidates are taught to make decisive choices under pressure, to care for the Soldiers entrusted to them, and to uphold the values of duty, honor, and selfless service. Through shared hardship, enduring friendships are built, and a powerful sense of commitment to community, state, and nation takes root. Graduating from Texas Army National Guard OCS represents more than earning a commission in the United States Army; it marks the moment when individuals step forward to lead with courage, integrity, and unwavering dedication. It is a journey that demands everything and in return, shapes leaders who stand ready to serve whenever Texas and the nation call!
